Scholarships

Sometimes life will throw you into situations beyond your control. All of a sudden, affording your continued education is in jeopardy. Kappa doesn’t believe these circumstances should prevent anyone from obtaining a degree, which is why the Kappa Kappa Gamma Foundation offers more than 150 scholarships that provide financial assistance to our initiated members.

CLASS OF 1960 SPIRIT AWARD

The Penn State Delta Alpha Class of 1960 pledged this year to establish a continuing recognition of a graduating sister who best exemplifies the Kappa bonds of friendship, loyalty and most important, a positive example of Spirit.

This affirmation is in the form of a $100 cash gift to be presented each year to a graduating senior. Additionally, each year the Class of 1960 will acknowledge a sister from their pledge class in memorial. For 2022, the memorial is in the name of Diane Moss Schofield Lemon, Penn State Class of 1960.

Diane identified her strong Kappa friendships and incredible bonds as gifts; cherished treasures that had helped define her life. Diane was multifaceted. She was a woman of enduring faith, of commitment, of courage, of resilience. Diane was blessed with a positive outlook; her smiling, lighthearted nature set an example for peers. Despite the many life challenges she faced, Diane never wavered in her faith. She consistently maintained her amazing qualities of acceptance, resilience, determination, and perseverance. For those of who knew and loved her, Diane was recognized as the epitome of “Grace in action.”

We, her Kappa pledge sisters, will forever remember Diane and in doing so congratulate Abby Nordenholt, Penn State Class of 2022, as this year’s recipient of the Class of 1960 Spirit Award.

Abby has been dutiful as a sister since pledging in 2019, has met all the senior level obligations, and will be graduating this spring with a BA degree in Health Policy and Administration.

For those who don’t know Abby well, she is from Richboro, PA and joined the Delta Alpha chapter in the spring of 2019. As a sophomore, Abby was elected House Chairman and served her full one-year term. Since then, she served as a member on the Academic Excellence Committee, as well as, on the Vice President of Organization’s Committee. Abby has also represented Kappa proudly as the sorority’s representative at the PSU Sexual Violence Prevention Program and as a performer in Greek Sing. Outside of Kappa, Abby has been busy with activities related to her major, specifically the HPA Annual Golf Outing and interning at the Erickson Senior Living establishment in Warminster, PA.

Join us in congratulating Abby on this award and her upcoming graduation!
